Each Friday, Orangewood rounds up the freshest new songs on our playlists. Here are the tracks we love right now, in no particular order.
“i love you but you make me cry” — Elthia
Elthia has swept indie pop lovers off their feet with her debut single, "i love you but you make me cry." With the track's upbeat, hypnotic rhythm, you can't help but dance, but the lyrics will have you torn. Elthia said the song was "inspired by magic, with lines like ‘immersed in your hypnosis, willing to suffocate,’ meaning, ‘I’ll keep obsessing over you, even if I put myself in danger.’" Those devastating lines will have you obsessing over the song, too. If you can't get enough, check out her stripped-down version of the track on her Mason Nylon Cedar Live as performed on her Instagram.
