Once a month, Orangewood rounds up the freshest new songs on our playlists. Here are our favorite tracks from February, in no particular order.
“Outta Time”
Orville Peck
Welcome to the rodeo! February was quite a month for country music stans. To start, western legend Lavender Country blessed us with his first new album in over 50 years. We also got a new album announcement from Orville Peck, as he released the first ‘chapter’ of his forthcoming second album, Bronco. Building on his bluegrass, country rock, and California psych inspirations, the singles set the stage for what’s sure to be Peck’s most theatrical work yet.
“Call Me Home”
SASAMI
Leaning fully into her intensity, SASAMI’s Squeeze is a multi-faceted catharsis. It’s a wild ride of an album – a hybrid of hardcore, metal, and ‘90s grunge that the singer-songwriter pulls off with effortless cohesion. Building and softening at just the right moments, this is genre-bending at its finest.
“Fall In Love With A Girl”
Cavetown, beabadoobee
Cavetown and beabadoobee — a match made in YouTube. Both artists can trace huge career moments to the platform — through vlogs, online guitar tutorials, and breakout songs shared. We’re grateful the algorithms aligned to pair these indie-rock darlings, for a timeless and dreamy new tune.
