A great guitar, with a minor flaw

I've been happy with the guitar, the only minor issue I've had is the head stock being very heavy which could be a bit of a problem for new players due to the neck dive. Other than that it's lovely sounding instrument.

SO AMAZING

This was mg second orangewood purchase and i’m so happy with it! this is the perfect guitar for me bc i have small hands and like to take my guitar places. Perfect for gigs bc it has the pickup but also easy to carry around

pick-up wiring

Nice little guitar. I recommended for my brother. He got the one the fisherman pickup. But inside of the guitar, the wiring was all loose, rattling around long wires. Nothing. tacked down. Just real bad attention to detail. I had to take off all the strings, get my big hands through a small hole and tape down all these rattling wires. You think they'd do a better job of this, very. lazy. disappointed. and would not recommend.

Thanks for your review; we're sorry you had this issue. It sounds like the wires may have been jostled during shipping. For future reference, you can always reach out to our Customer Service Team for assistance at hello@orangewoodguitars.com.

Oliver Jr. is a handsome little instrument

I learned about Orangewood from a friend when I picked up their guitar to noodle around on. The portable size, lovely finish and colors, and perfect action captivated me and so for the first time in 15 years I decided I would buy a new guitar.

I really like my Oliver Jr, but it arrived with a bunch of wood pieces rattling around in the body (no big deal) and the action was nowhere near what my friend’s unadjusted Oliver Jr. had boasted, which had been a major factor in my decision.

I was disappointed by the action, but the price point was nice, the complimentary travel case was a good perk, and overall I enjoy the guitar. The sound can be a little hollow with some notes, but for practicing it’s perfect and I don’t consider this a downside for myself.

Top Wood Guide

Spruce

A classic tonewood for acoustic guitars, spruce is a well-rounded, durable wood that’s suitable for many styles of playing.

Torrefied Spruce

A vintage-inspired upgrade, torrefied spruce is roasted to remove excess moisture, so the guitar continues to play at peak performance.

Mahogany

A common tonewood for top, back, and sides, Mahogany is known for its clarity and evenness to accentuate the mid-range tones.

Cedar

An excellent topwood for classical guitars, cedar is perfect for delicate playing styles, like fingerpicking and soft strumming.
