Morgan Mahogany Live

I like the guitar overall but I am disappointed with the pickup. I get good volume from the D,G,B and E strings but little volume from the E and A strings. I have sent an email asking what I need to do to correct this problem and am awaiting an answer. I suspect a problem in the bridge it self or a defective piezo. I am prepared to reseat the bridge but want to check and see if there is something else that I need to do or have missed.

First Orangewood Acoustic Electric Guitar - Morgan Live

I have been playing guitar for about 8 years. My first guitar purchase was a used Taylor 110e. I love the guitar and its wonderful bright Taylor sound. However, as I have been coming into contact with other guitars that have a less bright sound that I really enjoy. I was not really in the market for a new guitar but when I ran across a YouTube video on less expensive well built guitars that changed. I was intrigued by the cost and sound of the Morgan Live by all of the video’s I watched on YouTube. I checked the price and the Christmas sale made it a no brainer. I have been playing the guitar for a few weeks. At first I thought I made a mistake as it sounded so different from my Taylor. However, as I have been playing it more the sound has grown on me. My wife likes it a lot. I love the way it looks and so I pick it up more than my Taylor. I now find myself playing it more than my Taylor and I love the warm rich tones when I get her singing really good. Definitely worth the money and I would recommend Orangewood as a guitar maker. Would love to try one of the more high end guitars to see how they sound as well.

Top Wood Guide

Spruce

A classic tonewood for acoustic guitars, spruce is a well-rounded, durable wood that’s suitable for many styles of playing.

Torrefied Spruce

A vintage-inspired upgrade, torrefied spruce is roasted to remove excess moisture, so the guitar continues to play at peak performance.

Mahogany

A common tonewood for top, back, and sides, Mahogany is known for its clarity and evenness to accentuate the mid-range tones.

Cedar

An excellent topwood for classical guitars, cedar is perfect for delicate playing styles, like fingerpicking and soft strumming.
