Plays Great

I have had this for a few months now it’s amazing sounds nice the mids and lows are Great lacks on the High ends a little but that’s because of the mahogany and I like the sound of mahogany so not a problem it is the most Beautiful guitar I’ve ever seen the binding is great. And it plays like a dream I have not played many guitars but the neck is so smooth and it fits. in the hand perfectly. And the hard shell case is amazing considering the price must 600$ guitars don’t come with that I don’t think many 600$ guitars play like is either. It was stiff(I mean the tone) at first but before long it Open up well and when I put 13s on it rocked I can’t put it down I like it a lot.

Great Guitar for Intermediates

I purchased the Ava M (no pickup) a few weeks ago. This guitar has a lot going for it and I will be keeping it. After 15 on/off years on a decent Ibanez, covid rekindled my interest and it's amazing what playing 1-2 hours a day will do. I wanted a newer, nicer guitar to match my progress and I was willing to spend a few bucks. I probably played 25 different guitars at my local GCs and was quickly drawn to the warm tones of solid mahogany. I find the concert/OM shape most comfortable and find it versatile for pretty much any style (open chords, barre, fingerpicking). I almost pulled the trigger on a Martin 000-15M, but I couldn't convince myself I'm worthy enough for the $1350 price tag. Orangewood popped on my radar (thanks FB...), read/watched all the reviews, and ordered one based on their 30-day / $15 return policy. Out of the box, it's beautiful yet understated and the binding gives a nice offset to the dark wood. It was set up perfectly, no dings or imperfections. The build quality and playability are fantastic. It sounded a little "stiff" at first, but I'm pleased at how much it has acclimated and opened up in just a few weeks of playing. My wife says it sounds as good as the $1k+ guitars I made her listen to at GC. Overall, very satisfied. I can only say 1 negative thing, it's made in China, but that's the tradeoff to get a high quality guitar for half the price.

Nice warm sound

From the moment after it got tuned I knew this was a keeper. I purchased the Ava. The quality of it is exactly what I have been hearing about. I can’t seem to put it down. I love playing this guitar and it’s even better knowing I didn’t break the bank getting it. Very Happy!

I've had two Ava Mahoganys. Let me explain...

Pros: The set up is perfect for me to pick or strum without buzzing. The tone is nice and warm with a pleasant midrange that makes it enjoyable to play. The mohogany is beautiful! The design is well thought out which makes this guitar comfortable to play sitting or standing. The case and Grover tuners are a very nice touch. I would also like to mention Orangewood Support was great to help me when I contacted them.

Cons: Quality control is seriously lacking. While the satin finish is nice, there is dust under the finish that is both visually and noticeably felt while playing or handling the guitar. The first guitar I received was returned for a replacement, and both have dust under the finish. I have bought many guitars over the years and have never encountered a poor finish quality like this. The two guitars I received should be listed and sold as b-stock. I think that would solve the problem.

All things mentioned, with some serious buffing and installing my own pickup, this really is a decent guitar I will enjoy hauling around to play at my leisure.
