The guitar looks beautiful! Sounds amazing! It is really the best guitar for the price hands down!
Only problem that it is buzzing on the 6th fret of the e string and a little on the B string. But I will take to a luthier for a quick fix.
But I absolutely love this guitar!!! Thank you Orangewood
After not playing guitar for numerous years, I was looking for an affordable acoustic to enjoy playing once again. My discovery of Orangewood really caught my attention and so, I ordered the Austen. The response and delivery was prompt yet the real surprise was when my Austen was unboxed. The guitar surpassed all my expectations, especially for the price.
The action and intonation was spot on and the fret work was exceptional. The fingerboard even had side dots as well as nice inlays. A well-grained solid spruce top with a nice satin finish and seamless bindings indicated that this guitar was a labor of love. Yet now came the real test. How did it sound and play?
I was immediately struck by it's superb play-ability all over the neck. The sound was balanced and bright with great projection and sustain. It wanted to sing and was a real joy to play. I've been playing it a few weeks now and it has only gotten better sounding.
Overall, an outstanding guitar for a super great price. Thanks Orangewood.
The guitar arrived without any issue. The only negative I can say is that the guitar's strings came with some defect. But overall the guitar is very good.
I'm a beginner but have played a few guitars so while I don't have much experience I know what I like and I love this Austen. Great feel and wonderful sound. With a pick or without there's depth and clarity, easy playability and great fun. I'm amazed to find such a beauty with a case, shipping included, for such a low price. I don't think I could have done better. Thanks Orangewood!
Just received the Austen two days ago. Set up was great. I restrung it with Elixir electric guitar strings(10s) because I like the snap of the treble strings on the upstroke on the backbeat with syncopated downstrokes on the bass strings during rhythm and blues type accompaniment. Really fun instrument. (Also have 1967 Gretsch 6120 Nashville, a 1994 Taylor T-5 Standard and a 2018 Gibson Hummingbird.) I would recommend this guitar.
