To be honest, I was hesitant to try the Oliver JR. at first because I’m not the biggest fan of mahogany’s looks. When I received the guitar, it was almost in tune! The action was low, no buzzing, fret sprout, etc. The only thing I ended up changing on the guitar was the strings. This is only my third acoustic that I’ve purchased, alongside a Stella H927 (more of a wall hanger) and a Martin DX1AE. If you’re on the fence about trying this guitar out, I think you’d be surprised. Overall, it’s a great guitar and it’ll be perfect to travel around with!
well finished instrument, great and impressive sound
Thank you for the review, Eugene! We're so glad you're enjoying your Orangewood!
Oliver Jr. Mahogany
A great guitar, having fun with it.
My second Orangewood. First was a Dana that travelled to Alaska and French Polynesia where it now is - in the hands of a Tahitian musician. Great little guitar.
The Oliver is a step up - great feel, looks good - sound is mellow and sweet-action and intonation right on particularly the harmonics. One wish is that the frets felt a bit smoother on string bends - but sure they could be dressed for that.
I have other vintage and fancier guitars, electric and acoustic, but this guy is ultra-convenient.
Thanks for making such a friendly nice looking guitar!
Thank you for being a returning customer, Jeff!
