Satisfied for a novice player. I had been eyeing the Morgan mahogany for sometime. Decided to pull the trigger after saving up but to find out they were all sold out. So bummed. Oh well at least I'm playing.
This guitar is well made and has an excellent tone. I tuned it up and played it right out of the box. The action and intonation was set perfectly. I have a 1981 Martin D-28 and the fitment and feel of this guitar is as good, if not better in my opinion. As long as Orangewood Guitars sticks to their business model, more people will see the quality of these instruments at reasonable prices, and sales will follow! Thank you Orangewood!
I made a few setup changes to the action, but the guitar was playable right out of the box with a minor amount of tune up. The quality is very good and it plays easily as well. The fit and finish are as good as any high-end guitar that I have as well. I did change out the plastic bridge pins and replace them with ebony pins, change out the strings to my favorites, and put a strap on it. It is a pleasure to play.
Since seeing many incredible reviews on YouTube for Orangewood guitars, I decided to try one for our youth group worship team at our church. We tried out the Orangewood Spruce Live plugged in this Wednesday and have decided it's a keeper! I own a Taylor 818ce and although that guitar is an amazing instrument, the Morgan Spruce had incredible intonation and tone for a $275 dollar guitar with no additional set-up required. It measured up to our expectations plugged in with a mix as well. We look forward to using it in the weeks, months and years to come. GREAT JOB Orangewood!
