Okay. So my expectations weren't too high. I saw positive reviews, and a ton of sponsored videos hailing orangewood as the affordable Taylor/Martin. I chose not to get a highland edition guitar until I got to try them out first. I got a Morgan Spruce Live strictly because the Morgan Mahogany wasn't in stock. So I was already expecting less than I wanted to begin with. It took a while to finally recieve the guitar here in Florida due to ordering over the holidays. A few weeks I finally received it... And man... Right off the bat, this guitar is BEAUTIFUL. For 230 dollars, I was blown away.
The guitar comes with Ernie Balls, which I exchanged for a set of D'addarios because I'm just not huge on Ernie Ball. After changing the strings, everything is perfect about this guitar. Very bright, clean sound, the setup was almost perfect (I prefer very low action, so I did make slight adjustments on the truss rod), and the look of it... Seriously it's way better than I ever expected. After about a week or two, it's safe to say I've officially bonded with the guitar, which isn't easy for me in the 20 years that I've played.
Bottom line, beginner/intermediate/expert players, the hype is pretty on point. Thank you Orangewood! Looking forward to doing business with you guys again ASAP! :)
Definitely 5 star for the money you pay for these instruments. I play love often and needed an acoustic but didn’t want to drop 700 for a decent acoustic simply because of name brands. I have been pleasantly surprised.
In terms of for professional use, the tuning slips a bit more than I’d like and the neck is a touch thick for my taste. That’s just me being picky though. Overall a fantastic guitar.
I bought Morgan Spruce Live from Orangewood. Got it for 220.00 because it had a blemish. Guitar arrived within 3 days without issue. Flawless setup. Quality and sound are surprisingly good. I don’t think you can find a better guitar for this price (even if your paying the full 275.00). I spent a month+ looking for a cutaway acoustic and settled on Orangewood. I’ll be buying a Mason Live soon!
