Spectacular Parlor!

Orangewood is putting out some surprisingly good budget guitars, all perfectly setup. I recently bought the Julian Black, with a torrified spruce top. Wow! Such a well balanced and beautifully resonant guitar. First parlor sized guitar I’ve played that can handle C tunings well. Nicely done Orangewood!

Thanks for your review, Kenneth! The Julian Black is one of our favorites, too. We hope you enjoy your first parlor sized guitar!

The guitar arrived nicely set-up as advertised. I am impressed with the Grover tuners, the smooth fret ends, slotted headstock, and the fit and finish is really nice. The case is an extra bonus. A lot better than most you get. The string spacing is very nice for fingerstyle. I was so impressed with this guitar; I purchased an Ava Cedar nylon string guitar.

Great instrument for the value, but lacks a little polish.

The sound and quality of the instrument are fantastic. The neck is super comfortable although a bit wide for my personal taste. If you're looking for a parlor guitar with quality materials, this is a great purchase. My only complaints is that the frets are a little gritty and can use some polishing which I will gladly do myself.

Don't hesitate to get this guitar, just don't expect the world. If you'd like a guitar with the same quality components but want the polish, look towards Eastman.
