My new Morgan live sounded much better once I changed the strings.
At first my Rey sounded better but time will tell, I would buy another Orangewood!
It was super easy to buy easily the greatest cheap guitar I've ever owned. Beautifully set up. Nice sound, cool hardware. Just as I was starting to fall head over heals and wondering if I could actually purchase a high end orangewood guitar without playing one, I started developing some buzzing frets. It's not a shot at orangewood at all, seems they had it set perfectly, and the build was solid. It has been quite humid over the last few weeks, but I've never seen frets give out so quickly, almost like the guitar was dropped or something, but it wasn't. Not mad about it, great cheap guitar! It did make me have to play with one of the higher models before I purchase it though.
I am primarily and bass player and wanted an acoustic guitar to learn to play on. I had looked at Orangewood six months ago and ended up going with another brand. I returned that one and bought a used Yamaha that ultimately was a bad fit for me and sold it. This guitar makes me wish I had just bought the Orangewood from the first. It sounds great and is easy to play. Mine was set up perfect out of the box and just needed to be tuned. The electronics are clean and crisp out of my 20 watt tube amp. Is it a high end guitar? No, but I wasn't looking for that. This guitar is well built and worth every penny and more. Now I am looking to buy an Oliver Jr. for my kids to learn on. Thank you Orangewood!
This guitar has exactly what I wanted . Good looking, great sounding , reasonable price, with exceptional fishman electronics ,with a real spruce top,and a bone nut and saddle I very satisfied with my purchase.
Lots of issues with the set up. While customer service tried to help, I had to take to a luthier and get the saddle shimmed. The issue was the wood was not well seasoned and was drying out even though I do keep it in the gig bag with a sound hole humidifier. The top drying out was causing the bridge to buckle a bit and the strings to buzz on the frets. I think things are stabilized now. However, this guitar requires more attention to humidification than my Fender or Cort. If you live in a dry climate, I would consider another model in the Orangewood line.
When the frets aren't buzzing, I really like playing this guitar.
