New Wood, Vintage Tone

Roasting spruce speeds up its natural aging process, delivering a played-in, old-school tone. This torrefaction process removes excess moisture, making the guitar more resistant to overall atmospheric changes—perfect for tonal consistency.

The Golden Age

With retro charm and a contemporary build, the Highland Collection captures a timelessness that never goes out of style. From the Grover open-gear tuners to the herringbone details, every element is crafted with care.

Set Up in Los Angeles

Professionally set up before shipping, your guitar arrives ready to play—with fresh strings and a durable hard case included.

Very Nice Guitar

I bought an Ava a few months ago for a) the price and b) the solid mahogany sides, back AND top. It's almost identical in size to my Martin 00-18 which is mahogany with a spruce top. I learned 2 things. First, the Martin has a better, fuller sound with more projection, 2nd, the Ava was the easier guitar to play. I was curious about the dreadnaught size, so I ordered the Hudson, mahogany back and sides, spruce top.. Compared to my Martin, this doesn't sound as full, which may have something to do with the lack of X bracing, but it still sounds good and like the Ava, it's easier to play. Both the Ava and the Hudson are extremely well-built and impeccable instruments with very low action out-of-the-box. The Hudson includes a very nice hard case (the Ava's gig bag is also nice). While the Martins admittedly sound better, they also cost 3-4x as much. So with Orangewood you get decent sound, very well-built, nice-looking and the most playable of guitars for a great price.

Thanks so much for your detailed review! We’re really glad to hear you’re loving the playability and quality of both the Ava and Hudson. Enjoy!

Hudson Torrefied Top

I highly recommend this guitar. I had a cheap rogue acoustic from years ago. This one was night and day difference. Sound is amazing, feel and set-up were amazing. I can't put this thing down.

Not for me but..

Well made, case is good. I like the sound of Martin’s better even the X series at at similar price point to the Hudson. I cannot give a totally fair review.

Good value

Got it with the 10% off. $670 total, includes the hardshell case which is nice. Feels and sounds a little bit overbuilt, for the specs it should resonate more but that being said this beats every Mexican made Martin and epiphones in this price range.
