I've never played a guitar till this one showed up but so far so good. Still working on learning "All Apologies" if you had any doubts as to how brand new I am. TBH, I bought this entirely based on the wirecutters recommendation. Got the starter kit with it since I needed a tuner anyway. I'm only a few days into ownership so check on me in six months, maybe by then I will know two Nirvana songs ;)
Loving my new Orangewood Rey. For me it's a re-start beginning guitar, haven't played much since I was a kid. The Rey is a great size for snowbird traveling up and down from MT to AZ for me, has great tone for such a great price and is also well made. My bigger fingers are pretty clumsy on the more narrow fret board, a bit wider would be nice but that'd be my only complaint and that could just be my own ineptitude...This a great bargain with the nice padded kit bag, nice strings, tuner, chord chart and other doodads. Beautiful looking instrument as well. Excellent communication and customer service from Orangewood. Good to go right out of the box. Super stoked to keep playing my Rey! Thanks all!
Hey, I've had this guitar for a few months now. Absolutely no damage yet and the strings play the same out of the box. It comes with a carry bag and is affordable. Not much more you can say. The 130 dollar price tag is amazing for a beginner. It sounds amazing and it plays amazing. However keep in mind it has a small neck, so if this is for your kids then its a great option!
I’m really enjoying my new guitar - despite the fact that my finger tips still hurt! Thank you for a great sounding guitar, at an affordable price.
