Disappointed purchase

The guitar had a blemish on the rear bout, a very noticable area that was missed when it was stained. (Thin area of bare wood color). The low e string pin sat a 1/4 inch higher than the others. This makes me believe the guitar was not set up before leaving the shop as described by the website. I returned the guitar the day after I received it. On a good note the return process was easy.

Terrific !

As advertised, the guitar was playable right out of the box and already in standard tuning. Set up to perfection by technician signed "P." who I am grateful to.
I have been impatiently waiting for this guitar to arrive and I was quite apprehensive that it could be damaged during shipping. However, the guitar arrived in perfect condition and produces a beautiful sound for fingerstyle. It is my first acoustic guitar and I was unsure if I would be able to adapt to steel strings given that I had only previously used nylon strings during my classical training background.

The tone of the Oliver Mahogany is phenomenal and I like the strings that it came with (keep in mind that I have not used steel strings before). The sound is very good and I have absolutely no complaints regarding this guitar. It is a wonderful instrument which sounds awesome and looks great. If you are an intermediate player, this guitar is absolutely worth it! The hype is real.

100% satisfaction. Next on my list is the Ava Mahogany.

Awesome Guitar!

Perfect out of the box! Set up was perfect, action was perfect, not too low or high so the tone and volume is balanced. Wonderful guitar, I would recommend to anyone,

Give it time... Give it time.

I purchased this guitar in 2019, right after the internet craze over OrangeWood. Unfortunately, the sound right out of the box was thin, tinny, and nothing like the stereotypical mahogany sound. Despite all of this, I decided to keep it and stick it out. Two years later, I pick up the guitar all of the time. The wood has really opened up in the past year, and the warmth has flooded in. Elixir bronze 13s certainly help (considering it came with crappy Ernie Ball Earthwoods). The matte finish is odd: anywhere it takes frequent contact becomes polished; (which, for me, is right below the soundhole and behind the neck). It really just looks oily and greasy. Additionally, you have to play this guitar as it is meant to be played. You can't go all "Mumford and Sons" on it with a heavy pick. It is a 000, mahogany guitar. Fingerpicking, light strumming, and lots of reverb sound excellent on this instrument. Just don't expect it to be a jack-of-all-trades workhorse. For $175 (after using common coupons), you really can't go wrong. Just give it time.

What I think of the Orangewood "Oliver".

I agree with all those folks who say this is a fantastic guitar for the money. I own a Taylor GS Mini, a Martin dreadnaught Jr, Loar lo-16, Guild om140ce and a slew of others, and this Oliver fits right in amongst them with not a bit of shame. It really is a well made, great playing and sounding guitar.
