The Hype Is Real

Just received a Brooklyn. It is every bit as good as reviewers and users are communicating. It is almost unreal regarding the quality, sound, build and playability at this price point. The action was a bit high for my preference at the 12th fret, especially on the Low E end. I sanded the saddle to lower the levels and brought it right into a 5/64 inch low E and 4/64 inch high E. Then small adjustments to the Truss. The neck handled it with no problem, no buzzing or neck relief issues.

I own several high end guitars and am a multi decade player, and the Brooklyn is not a "compromise" guitar. I purchased mostly for travel, and couch playing and I won't feel like I am lowering my playing experience by not playing one of the others.

Good Job Orangewood!

Gorgeous Guitar

This is one beautiful guitar! There is not a blemish on it. Fit and function are superb. Well deserving of the five star rating.

The only issue I have with the guitar, and it’s a minor one that all guitars seem to have, is the notorious g string Wolf note(s). I found that the open g really vibrated the headstock while no other strings did. I solved the issue by placing the clamp on tuner next to the d string tuner. Open d is still a little dull but acceptable. It also required a slight truss rod tweak.

The only other issue is with the gig bag. It looked like it might have been on the bottom of the stack of gig bags for a while. It was pretty crumpled up, but I didn’t buy the guitar for the gig bag. Stuffing it full of small boxes and rolled up towels and setting it in front of a heater for a few hours put it is back in shape.

All in all I’m loving this guitar, the sound, the looks and especially the price.

Top Wood Guide

Spruce

A classic tonewood for acoustic guitars, spruce is a well-rounded, durable wood that’s suitable for many styles of playing.

Torrefied Spruce

A vintage-inspired upgrade, torrefied spruce is roasted to remove excess moisture, so the guitar continues to play at peak performance.

Mahogany

A common tonewood for top, back, and sides, Mahogany is known for its clarity and evenness to accentuate the mid-range tones.

Cedar

An excellent topwood for classical guitars, cedar is perfect for delicate playing styles, like fingerpicking and soft strumming.
