I purchased an "almost perfect" Mason Mahogany Live during the recent sale. It arrived quickly and other than having a poory placed pick guard, I have yet to find any flaws. It took about 15 min to carefully remove the pick guard and clean the adhesive residue from the top. The top of this guitar is way to pretty to hide behind a plastic pick guard anyways. It is a strikingly beautiful instrument with the abalone sound hole purfling standing out against the dark Mahogany top and the distinctive Orangewood neck inlays.
Setup was great right out of the carton. Fret work is impeccable, all frets level and nicely dressed, not a single sharp end over the entire neck.
The guitar plays easily, sounds lovely and I'm sure it will only get better with time. The LR Baggs Element system sounds great. Really nice gig bag as well. An astounding value.
Great to see a company putting out such high quality instruments at affordable price points.
Thanks for your review, David! We're happy that you had a positive experience with us! Thanks for trying out our Mason Mahogany Live - Almost Perfect!
The neck is smooth and the frets are very good with a great sound
The finish on the guitar is flawless and beautiful.
With the mahogany I expected the sound to be mellow but it was much more. Love the sound, setup is great and harmonics are pure.
Brought it home, must be the first Orangewood to come to Argentina. Very impressed, flawless finish, beautiful color.
Came with Fishman electronics onstead of LR Baggs.
Sounds great, very warm sound and well defined.
Thanks for the review, Andy! Enjoy the your Mason Mahogany Live!
Have been playing this guitar for around 3 months now and I like the feel of the neck and sound that I'm getting which is all I was really looking for in a guitar. I'm not sure how much different the Mahagony version differs from the Sitka spruce version in sound but I love the sound I get out of the Mahogany.
Thanks for the review, David! Glad you are enjoying the smooth, warm tone of the Mahogany!
