This is our 3rd guitar from Orangewood! We love them so much we keep coming back!
Love this Guitar! the low price point and yet a guitar as good sounding as one much higher in cost. Phonics are great. Most guitars in this price range have little if any phonics. this one has them all over the fret board. Tone is very good. I could also tell they took the time to set it up before it was shipped. Very nice for the price. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone from new players to players like me.
I was referred by a friend to this website. I never heard about this website, however I felt very comfortable with the site's professional design and layout. When I finally ordered my guitar, I received insightful text messages about my order and its tracking. I never received these insightful from any other company I ordered from. I was very happy how much they cared for their customers :) Thank you Orangewood for such a customer great experience. I cant wait to tell all my other friends about this awesome online store.
With all the YouTube hype, I guess I expected more. Yes, I saw the price. I read the reviews. I heard the comparisons to a Taylor. I saw and heard Marty sniff the guitar, and yes it smells good. But something is missing.
When I picked it up, and dropped it in my lap, it just felt light, thin, and it had a lack of substance.
The tonal quality desires to have more in the low-mids and lows. It is quite literally, tinny. It plays like it wants to sound good.
The 'A' string had a buzz.
The action was set a bit high. With my arthritis, every millimeter counts. I would have thought the guitar would have been more professionally tuned for maximum performance.
The pick guard came from a cracker jack box? Seriously, would you put this on your guitar?
I tried 3 sets of strings, and I couldn't get the expected noise to come out of the hole.
Is the guitar worth the price? Frankly, yes. It's a decent guitar for the price. It has a decent sound, but it doesn't sound like a $3000 guitar with a $500 price like the YouTube ads would make one think.
I would say it's my fault really. I fell into the trap of listening to the hype.
On the other side....
The guitar is beautiful. The inlay is pretty without being gaudy.
The neck was perfectly wide, (IIRC 4mm nut) perfect for my hands and play style.
I regret I never plugged it in to hear the electronics.
If I were a beginner looking to upgrade my pawn shop beater, then this is a great guitar and price point for that.
Would I recommend the guitar? Yes, I think so. It's a good sound for the money, but not for me. Maybe I should have held out for the Sage Live?
Thank you for the no hassle return, and the opportunity to try the guitar out. Rental fee $15 (restock) + $20 (2 day shipping) gladly paid for the experience. Your customer service is fantastic, prompt and courteous.
