I bought this one a couple of months ago and had watched and read so many reviews prior to my purchase. It is a very nicely constructed guitar and sounds and looks good. There was a small cosmetic blemish on the bridge but it nothing to be concerned about. And there is a some buzz when I play but other than that I am very happy with this instrument and would recommend orangewood for sure. Btw this is my second orangewood and 4th guitar.
Great guitar for the price. Lowered the saddle .040 thousands, not much, strings play better, easier for me. You can actually feel the sound of this guitar. Against your body while strumming. Balance across all strings. The 6th,5thand 4th strings don't over punch the 1st,2nd, or 3rd strings. Orangewood has made a new costumer in me and new generation of guitar players from my family.
I purchased two Manhattan's for an outreach ministry that I participate in. First of all, it came earlier than expected, well packed and shipped. Second, as they were unboxed, I tuned them up and they held tune well without having to retune them initially. I then strummed the first chord, it rang clear, true and full of body and tone. I was surprised that this was a fully laminate guitar. Usually a laminate guitar will sound a bit choked, or nasal in the midrange, this did not. It reminded me of a D-18 Martin I played years ago. Third, I began to play up and down the neck, there was no fret buzz or adjusting needing to be made. Fourth, I placed a pickup, an IK Multimedia Acoustic iRig, and was further impressed by how well it spoke even through that. Fifth, I had a fellow guitarist come to try it out. He strummed his first chord and his jaw dropped. Sixth, I did notice a slight variation with the sound as I compared the two. Not a biggie, but both are still playable and dare I say well worth what I paid and then some. For the price you will not be disappointed. A friend of mine is also looking into purchasing an Orangewood, namely the Oliver Jr. because of its smaller scale and pickup. He is a fellow worship leader that sometimes travels. I can't wait for the Hudson Live to come back with it's L.R. Baggs system.
P.S. I will be purchasing one in the near future for my sister who is looking forward to playing guitar again.
Im 19 and ive been playing music for about 14 of those year so i know a pretty good quality guitar when i hear one. Ive had this guitar for about a year and a 1/4, and i have never heard such an amazing sounding guitar at this price. You get essentially get a taylor guitar at a beginners price. While this is my first guitar, ive never played anything that sounds nearly as good as it. I would highly recommend this guitar to literally anyone who is either interested in playing or has been playing for years. After having this guitar i think im going to be an orangewood shopper forever.
