I wanted a daily driver and another acoustic as my wife is about to kill me for promising “no more gear “, so I figured I would start with the Manhattan to get a flavor . It takes a lot to impress me with Acoustic Tone and for a composite build , you could blind test and compare this to much more expensive spruce top guitars . The intonation is great , action right where I want it to be , and exceeded my tone and playability expectations.
The Direct to Consumer model makes this an even bigger value proposition. My only call out : is there anyway to tint the top as it shows up a pale whitish / tone vs a deeper tone ? Just a little bit of a “tan in the sun “ . Outside of that .. amazing company , amazing guitar at $125! Truly stunned .
It is easy to play, the only thing is the color. It is too white.
I was looking for a guitar I could strum on while i save up for repairs on my Washburn Cumberland. Read a lot of great reviews. Got the Manhattan for $100 during a holiday sale. I am absolutely more than satisfied so far! The action and intonation are spot on! Granted it is a composite guitar but the craftsmanship is unbeatable for a guitar at this price range! These will be my kids starter guitars when they are ready to start. Lightyears better than anything else comparable in price.
Excellent. Sounds great. The tuners are really good. I would recommend making the spruce top a little thinker. I had also purchased the $20 accessory pack. Very nice. The capo is metal. Well worth the money. Also, I might add that the action is low but not too much. Barring is easy. No buzzes down the neck. Looks like it was properly intonated.
