Awesome!

Told myself I’d learn guitar during my little covid time out. I started with a beginner Fender and 300 days later treated myself to an Orangewood Sage Torrefied Spruce. What a beauty!

Best Guitar for the money today!

I can’t help but pick up and play my beautiful Sage Torrefied Spruce top guitar! It looks great, sounds great and fits me like a glove! I added a Fischman pickup to it and just wish I had gotten the Sage Live version. But I LOVE this guitar!

Torrefic!

I have long loved Taylor guitars and have owned several, including a W-14c, a 25th Anniversary dreadnought, a GA-4 (essentially a 414), a 410, and a GS Mini. I am accustomed to the playability and tone of these fine guitars. But I was looking for a daily strummer--not too expensive, but with all solid woods--that I might feel comfortable taking with me to the beach, etc.

I have had the Sage (all acoustic--no electronics) in mind for some time and finally ordered one when a coupon came up for a substantial discount beyond the already reasonable price. It arrived yesterday, and already I am in love. It is highly playable--like my Taylors--has great tone, is aesthetically pleasing with many nice details one might not expect for the money, and came with a very nice case. I really like the lightness of the instrument, which makes it feel 'responsive' and reminds me of my 1998 W14c--my favorite Taylor, which was built before they changed their neck design, adding more weight.

This guitar is a great value, and I highly recommend it.

The one thing that might make it a better fit for my purposes would be the option of sealed tuning machines, though I do love the look of the open Grovers.

Love the review title!

Great Guitar!

I am honestly blown away. The Sage is a great guitar and I'm so glad to add it to my acoustic arsenal. I have played guitar for almost 30 years. Several years ago I finally got a nicer acoustic - a Guild around the same price point. Previously I had just played cheaper acoustic guitars. I have to say this Orangewood is a far superior instrument. The case is even nicer! The tone on the Sage is pristine and clear. Great response. It plays very well and comfortable. Also, this is the first guitar that I ever purchased without at least testing out the actual instrument in a music store or a comparable one of the same brand. I took a chance on Orangewood, and I have to say I'm very impressed! I'll still play my Guild as I need a second acoustic for lower tunings, but gosh, this will be my main acoustic now!
