Five years of satisfaction.

Can't believe I've had my Oliver Jr. Live for five years now! I decided to buy a traveler that I could keep with me for work and the " no questions asked" offer intrigued me especially at the price point. It came pretty much ready to play and has played well. My prime acoustic is a full sized Taylor and the Taylor mini was on my radar initially but The Oliver stood up so well that I kept it. I carried it around in my trunk from hotel to hotel for a couple of years until I left that job and now I keep it in our motorhome in a closet to play as we go on the road. It doesn't get babied at all and it still sounds and looks great. Don't want to mislead because it is a smaller sounding instrument but for picking it up to amuse myself it serves well. I don't gig but if I did I would not hesitate to plug in and use it. I use different strings (D'Addario Phos/Bronze 11's) than the Ernie Ball only out of personal preference but am considering returning to the heavier gauge EB's to compare sound projection and I have added some padding to the gig bag but I still use it. If you are expanding your collection or wanting to learn guitar I would certainly recommend trying Orangewood out. A lot of quality for your money.

Thanks fo rthe 5-year update! We’re thrilled to hear that your Oliver Jr. Live has served you so well over the years! It’s great to know that it’s been a reliable companion for your travels!

A great guitar, with a minor flaw

I've been happy with the guitar, the only minor issue I've had is the head stock being very heavy which could be a bit of a problem for new players due to the neck dive. Other than that it's lovely sounding instrument.

Top Wood Guide

Spruce

A classic tonewood for acoustic guitars, spruce is a well-rounded, durable wood that’s suitable for many styles of playing.

Torrefied Spruce

A vintage-inspired upgrade, torrefied spruce is roasted to remove excess moisture, so the guitar continues to play at peak performance.

Mahogany

A common tonewood for top, back, and sides, Mahogany is known for its clarity and evenness to accentuate the mid-range tones.

Cedar

An excellent topwood for classical guitars, cedar is perfect for delicate playing styles, like fingerpicking and soft strumming.
