This guitar exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship was nearly flawless and the sound and tone are wonderful for the price. Your follow-up during the purchase and shipping process were excellent.
Very pleased with the purchase of my new Orangewood Brooklyn guitar! Fit and finish, playability (action), sound are all exemplary. Only thing I can criticize, at this time, is the spruce top seems to have some spots and scuffs on it under the finish. At first I thought it might be some figuring in the wood, like maple with birdseyes, but it looks more like dent spots and a couple of scuffs on the spruce. It is under the finish so it is completely smooth on top. But for the price and the rest of the quality I can just pretend it's figuring. Now trying to decide what model to buy next!
I'm a beginning player with about 6 months of 4x a week practice. I played dozens of guitars at local shops before I made my purchase.
I had both guitars side-by-side for several days. I really loved the Yamaha's tone, slightly shorter scale and tone, but the action was very high and was going to need a set up by a local luthier to be as playable as the Orangewood. When you factor in that the OW was already less expensive (on sale), came with a case and was ready to go out of the box, the OW won. All told it would have been more than $100 more to get the Yamaha to the same state.
As with the Yamaha, my OW was made in China. I'd say the fit and finish was slightly better on the Yamaha, but not enough to sway my decision.
One month on, I'm completely happy with my purchase. The OW Brooklyn is a fantastic guitar that I can't put down. The tone keeps getting better as I break the guitar in, and the playability is awesome. It's also a very handsome instrument. It really should be much more expensive. I know this will last me for a long while as I develop my skills.
I love this guitar! I decided to take a chance on Orangewood after doing alot of research online. I'm glad I did. I'm beginner guitarist, but my guitar teacher guessed that it was $700-$800 after checking it out. Thanks Orangewood!
I am really loving this guitar. This craftsmanship and the finish is nearly flawless and it plays really well. I also love the gig bag. It is very stout and i love the plush, soft interior. I don't understand how they did all this at this price point but I love it. The play ability is also very good. Thanks Orangewood.
