With our expert setup, your guitar is ready to play right out of the delivery box. All Highland models come freshly restrung with Ernie Ball Phosphor Bronze strings.
Inspired by the beauty of vintage guitars, we added a torrefied solid top and Grover open gear tuners to our Highland collection for an aged look and woody tone.
Take your guitar everywhere with our durable hard case designed for gigging musicians.
Our Highland Live models come equipped with the award-winning LR Baggs Anthem Pickup System, chosen for its warm natural tone and feedback resistance.
The sound is just as advertised. And very playable. Torrefied spruce with satin finish looks amazing. Can’t bring myself to apply the pick guard!!
Only negative is that it was far out of tune. Just a minor annoyance.
Hudson Torrefied Spruce Live
Came as promised. Ready to go right out of the box. From California where they are shipped, to where I live is night and day temperature wise so it needed a little tuning. Sounds amazing, it really does. Best guitar I have ever owned. I feel like playing all over again, it's not the same old thing any more. I had been struggling to get a good sound out of my cheap acoustic ( which will remain un-named) in my recording studio. This guitar made all the difference. Back to the studio !!!!
Very pleased with this guitar. Playability and sound are excellent. Side-note, case arrived a bit beat up and does not close properly.
I have been a guitar player for over 20 years, and this is the first time I have purchased an acoustic guitar sight unseen. After watching countless reviews on YouTube (some of which were lauding the guitar, and some were mixed...), I decided that the Torrefied Hudson was the one for me. I play primarily in a church setting, leading worship. The guitar shipped super quick, the company was communicative throughout the entire process, and the guitar finally arrived. Yes, it is constructed in China (usually a cause for concern), but upon opening the case I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Even after shipping all the way from CA to NJ in the freezing cold, the guitar was almost perfectly in tune right out of the case. After a quick tuning, I started playing and reviewing. The construction quality is very good. Bindings look great, nut and saddle are set just fine. Frets look great and the setup from Orangewood was pretty on point. The case is of a decently high quality and the guitar fits in there snug as a bug. The unplugged sound of the guitar is very good! Not as warm as my Martin D-15, but close...and with much more projection. Decent lows, great mids and very punchy highs. This guitar sounds very good unplugged as an acoustic guitar. But then I plugged it in to my Fishman Acoustic amp...and wow. The L.R. Baggs Anthem system really is what it is chalked up to be. Once I had my tone blended and dialed in, I was in love. This guitar is most likely going to be my daily driver, replacing my trusty 15 year old Martin. Thank you Orangewood! You have made a fan out of me for sure. I can't really find any fault in this guitar, especially at its price point, and my gamble of buying an acoustic guitar sight unseen paid off. I am very pleased! I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for that perfect blend of acoustic usability and liver performance sound.
We are so glad to hear that you are enjoying your new Hudson, Ron!
