Excellent value - top quality craftsmanship

I was on the fence for weeks on whether to purchase the Orangewood Sage. I’d searched the web for any and all videos and articles reviewing their high end, all solid models because the price for one of their solid body acoustic guitars sounded to good to be true. The reviews were all positive but could I trust them....

So, I took the plunge. I’ve had my Sage acoustic for about five days now and I couldn’t be happier. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch. I’ve owned and played several Taylor acoustic guitars from the 100 and 200 series and this guitar blows them all out of the water. I’ve never played a guitar with such balanced tone. The tone is warm and the highs cut through beautifully yet they aren’t tinny like some brighter acoustics can sound. The action and playability are perfect. The neck feels great with no sharp edges like you might expect with a less expensive guitar. You guys really nailed it - tone, craftsmanship and looks.

The LR Baggs Anthem pick up system amongst the best in the industry and the reviews will show.

Thank you Orangewood for saving me $1,000 to $1,400 (the cost of the other comparable solid body acoustics I was considering). If you are on the fence on whether to get an Orangewood guitar, I encourage you to go for it. The Sage is an excellent value.

We are glad to hear you are enjoying your Sage Live!
review of my recent purchase from

The guitar sounds great the only thing I was unhappy about was the top of the guitar being of two different shades and from the bottom of the bridge to the end of the top was a dark streak which I was not to happy about

Love it!

I bought this as an upgrade from my first guitar which was a Seagull. I was debating between this the Taylor 214ce, Taylor 314ce and Martin GPC 13e, since I was willing to spend more as a treat for myself. I was hesitant about the Orangewood first as I couldn’t test play it, but after watching many reviews on YouTube and playing the others at the guitar stores, I decided to just get it and see. I’m so surprised by the sound of the Sage! It’s a beautifully made guitar without any visible flaw (even Taylor 214ce that I saw had some visible unevenness on the guitar binding). The sound of the Sage is between the Martin and the Taylor, with enough bass tone yet enough brightness, thus great for both chords and fingerpicking. Set up was perfect out of the case (and also a BEAUTIFUL hard shell case with gold hardware). I did not have to tune it out of the box. I do prefer the neck of the Taylors but it’s not a deal breaker for me since I’m saving at least $500 with the Orangewood. I’m having so much fun with it! Keep it up Orangewood; please make an all solid with all gloss finish!

Great guitar

I am an intermediate player. I have had the opportunity to play high dollar taylors and gibsons, this guitar is close to their level for half the price. This guitar sounds better than a lower end taylor in my opinion. Action was tuned perfect, light tuning on the strings and the guitar has been ready to pick up and play for the past 2 weeks.

Exactly what I was hoping...

Love the guitar. Simply live it. Playability is extraordinary compared to my Fender. Size and weight perfect. Neck profile perfect. Tone beautiful particularly at the low end and no twang on the high end. Very satisfied.
