Oliver Jr. Mahogany Live
Get it now!!!
I'd been interested in picking up an Orangewood for quite some time- at least a year or more. When my daughter expressed an interest in learning and began to constantly commandeer my personal acoustic, I finally pulled the trigger. With the inclusion of a discount, I paid $250 for an acoustic-electric guitar and a great gig bag shipped to my door.
I wish I had a guitar of this quality when I started playing 30 years ago! The Oliver, Jr. Mahogany Live is a great-looking guitar. After a month, I'm still drawn to it and find it hard to put down when it's nearby. The neck is nice with no fret edges (what a huge deal, considering the price point), it stays in tune between songs, the intonation is surprisingly good up and down the fretboard, and it sounds great plugged into a PA.
While this is not to be confused with a high-end guitar, or even a $600+ guitar, it is absolutely wonderful for what it is: an entry-level, couch-companion, or travel guitar. Oh, and it's acoustic-electric! I don't think you'll find a comparable acoustic under $400, even without the preamp.
Love this little guitar. It sounds great and is easy to play.
Love my Oliver jr live!!!
