Tuner battery lock isn't opening

HI Orangewood guitars! So, the guitar is extremely beautiful and all, but when I tried opening the tuner to insert its battery, it wouldn't budge. I believe this is a manufacturing issue as no matter what, it literally won't open. I paid 25 dollars for this guitar kit, and it sucks that the tuner won't open. Please help me, otherwise, the guitar looks great.
