Love it, few things I will fix. Nut, low E string half exposed. Did not get Fishman info with purchase. Explaining controls and location. But not a problem.
I was hesitant because I had not played an Orangewood Instrument, but this guitar is AMAZING! It looks and sounds even better than advertised. The "Oliver Jr. Mahogany Live" is the best value for money I've ever purchased. The electronics are hidden away in the sound hole for a clean look and they sound crisp and articulate. Don't hesitate, buy an Orangewood. You will not be disappointed. I will be buying another Orangewood instrument soon!
The guitar feels great, fret ends are all nicely filed, action is good, neck is straight, looks good, sounds good. Hits *way* above price point (construction appears to be easily equal to my Taylor GS Mini Mahogany, at less than half the price). The body "back strap" pin striping/inlay (actually looks like it might be a decal under the clear coat) is not straight, roughly 1/4" out of line from the endpin to the neck heel. Minor issue no one else will likely notice, but I noticed it immediately.
Very high quality guitar. I have a Taylor big baby and I kinda forgot about it now that I have a Oliver jr.
I bought the Oliver mahogany Jr. because the dreadnaught I’ve had for 20 years is really hard for me to play. I am a short lady with sizable booba, so the body was too big and the neck was too long. This is perfect for me - my barred chords are sooo much easier, and the sound is honestly better than my other one. I’m super happy with this purchase. (I should mention I’m an amateur/hobby player - so the sound is amazing to me, but Im also not a “trained ear”)
