I got a Taylor GS Mini because my dreadnought had become painful to hold, and loved it so much that I immediately started thinking about a similar-size guitar for camping/biking/outdoor whatever. The Oliver Junior looked like a great option, and I had been looking at it for months when the sale price of $157 made it a no-brainer.
It's a great-looking guitar, except for the pick guard, which is so ugly I would never stick it on. I had read many reviews that noted small blemishes on their Oliver Juniors, but there's nary a one on mine. It's perfect front and back. So far it's tuning well.
The tone cannot match the GS Mini, but it has good tone -- to my ear it sounds happier as a fingerstyle guitar than picked. But it's pretty nice both ways.
Orangewood gave away an accessories kit in this sale, and the kit had an extremely useful electronic tuner plus a nice capo that works great so far. The gig big is flimsy compared to the GS Mini's, but I'm not looking for the moon here.
This is a nice little guitar that gets three stars for quality and 99 stars for the incredible price point.
