Very impressed

I honestly was not expecting the guitar to sound this good or have this good of a setup, even though all YouTube reviews raved about both of these aspects. My other 5 acoustics range from $1000 to $6000. I have never owned a sub $1000 acoustic but really wanted something I could leave out on a stand all of the time for easy access and just wasn't comfortable doing that with my other guitars. I tried a few guitars at my local shop that were solid top, layered back/sides and they were in the $400 to $500 range. That was a little more than I wanted to spend so thought I'd give the Oliver Mahogany a try. I am very impressed. It literally plays and sounds as good as any of the $400 - $500 models I tried. The most impressive thing to me though is the feel of the neck. It is one of the best feeling necks I have ever played. Neck feel is very important to me and generally the first thing I notice about a guitar. It tends to be what inspires me to pick a guitar up and play it. I cannot recommend this guitar enough. I don't think you can get more guitar for the money anywhere. On top of everything else, the guitar is just gorgeous. Fit and finish is perfect. The classy yet understated looks are just the icing on an incredible cake. Great job Orangewood!!

Wonderful Guitar

Ordered the Oliver for my 18 year old daughter for xmas. She is just starting out, so needed something not too expensive but still nice looking and decent quality. I remember buying myself a Fender starter kit at Best Buy quite a few years ago for just around $100, this one was just a bit more but OMG it is a very sweet guitar. The mahogany looks super nice too. Kit bag included and didn’t have to do anything right out of the box. Just pick it up and play. We live in Florida, but got it delivered in about a week. All in all an awesome experience.

Affordable, but not high quality

I have been playing this guitar (Olive M) for over a week now. Mids and highs are ok, but there is almost no bass sound. Also, my hands hurt a lot, playability is not great.

Top Wood Guide

Spruce

A classic tonewood for acoustic guitars, spruce is a well-rounded, durable wood that’s suitable for many styles of playing.

Torrefied Spruce

A vintage-inspired upgrade, torrefied spruce is roasted to remove excess moisture, so the guitar continues to play at peak performance.

Mahogany

A common tonewood for top, back, and sides, Mahogany is known for its clarity and evenness to accentuate the mid-range tones.

Cedar

An excellent topwood for classical guitars, cedar is perfect for delicate playing styles, like fingerpicking and soft strumming.
