Really fun to play. I can't put it down. It's like i am conjuring & romancing something out of it because it "resounds" all these overtones and harmonics. Playing mostly in dadgad tuning and so there are subtle notes that ring out from the drone in a really pleasant way. Set up was great but I put a set of coated strings on it to reduce finger noise. Plus it looks great! I have been playing for years and been through many guitars. They come and go. This is a keeper for sure. Delivery was real quick with good communications. I am very impressed with Orangewood. Thinking about getting the Florence parlour model too. I hope maybe...
The set up is just perfect. I would normally pay my local luthier the same amount of money to set up my guitars as what this guitar's total cost is. I bought this to be like a travel guitar or just to practice on. It has bright sound. A little boxy sounding from the layered back and sides. I play fingerstyle instrumentals so it's sound goes well with some styles and not so with others. I definitely recommend this for a beginner because of price and they'll be able to learn faster because of the playability. I had also purchased the Ava and Hudson. I will be writing a review on those. I saw reviews and performances on youtube of Orangewood Guitars. Which is what interested me in buying. Everything is true.
Typically in life you get exactly what you pay for and nothing more. I have discovered the exception to that rule in Orangewood guitars! Everything about the process exceeded my expectations and certainly exceeded my monetary contribution. Great value and I’ll be back for more!
Super light and super bright the Oliver was a great surprise when it arrived. Shipping was quick, ordered on a Thursday and had the guitar in my hand on Monday. Don’t be skeptical for the price these are amazing guitars!
I've been playing this guitar for close to two months now, and can say that having put some serious hours on this guitar, I absolutely love it. It looks nice, is playable, and sounds good. I've used it at open mic nights, I've used it to jam with roommates, and I taught my friend to play "Lean on Me" for his girlfriend's anniversary with this guitar. If you're scrolling through this page contemplating whether or not it is worth the money--I'll tell you it is. And even if it wasn't, Orangewood has a great return policy so you're not taking a huge risk.
I'll also say the company has been great to work with. Shipping was fast and they sent plenty of emails during transit and I couldn't be happier with the guitar. The only issue I had was that a bridge pin was slightly loose upon arrival, which isn't even worth mentioning and took two seconds to push in by hand.
