I purchased my little gem during the Christmas sale. I thought that perhaps I should give her time to acclimate to Pennsylvania's weather before I rated them. Upon delivery, I was shocked by how light it weighed. Opening the box I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the case, robustly padded and well contoured. The guitar was even more surprising. After some minor adjustments, (tuning, a slight adjustment of the neck). She came perfectly set-up. Intonation was spot-on. I sat down with her and played well into the night. After about a week I decided to change her strings to a set more to my liking. I purchased the Oliver Jr. because it's a travel type guitar and it will travel along with me once I move onto my sailboat. It will also be easier for cruisers with children to receive free lessons from me with a smaller guitar.
I highly recommend to those that are hesitating to take the plunge. Orangewood guitars are very well made and play beautifully.
The Oliver Jr. is great little travel guitar for me, very playable with a crisp clear tone. The other travel guitar I was considering cost 3 times as much. Thank you Orangewood, I am very pleased.
Purchased this guitar for my daughter for Christmas after seeing so many good you tube reviews. It is as good as promised. Action set up was just right. Guitar looks and sounds very good. When you consider how affordable it was it seems almost too good to be true.
This guitar has been amazing. I'm a newbie and the first guitar I got was sold to me repaired without my knowledge and I couldn't return it. I was always afraid to play it because I didn't want it to break again. Finally, it did. So, I decided to find a new one. I was a little hesitant to get a guitar online but I took my chances with this one. I'm a petite woman so I wanted a smaller guitar. It has been an absolute DREAM. I don't know much about guitars but it feels way better than my first one. It's much easier to play and sounds so good. It looks so pretty and smells so nice. Everyone I've shown it to wants it.
However, I almost knocked off a star because the top of the guitar, where the tuning pegs are, was a little off-center and crooked. It hasn't affected the performance of the guitar in any way; it just looks a little wierd. I've grown to ike it though because it makes it feel more unique and it's not even that bad. It took me a while to even notice it.
