I must admit I was alittle leary at fist about ordering a guitar on line. I must say how pleased I am with my instrument. The sound and feel is great and I am enjoying every minute. This is all the advertising said it would be...a wonderful guitar and a great price.
Pros: Price, sound and I really like the fret board inlays. In addition, the shipping/packaging was good with no problems.
Cons: The built in tuner isn't the best and slow to react, bought an external clip on tuner and the difference isn't large but is notable. In the short time I've owned this guitar, the top sound board color has changed unevenly right down the middle at the joint. I would provide a picture of the color change but it's not an option in this review format. Tuning machines were loose and had to be tightened (no big deal and was an easy fix).
All in All: I'm happy with the guitar and may buy another model at a latter date but without the electronics because I don't use an amp and had to buy an external tuner anyway. If the cons noted above don't bother you, then I recommend picking this one up because I really like the sound and IMO, you probably will too.
My first purchase was flawless and was pain free. My second purchase not so much. The Echo torrefied live is a great instrument however had issues which required some level of repair. Truss rod concerns which i was able to rectify and some minor fretboard repair. Perhaps this is a one off because my previous experience was much different. I love Orangewood guitars and once i get this one set up i am certain it will be great.
I purchased this guitar for my son about 2 years ago (Christmas gift)….he opened it up and immediately started playing and his face lit up with excitement….the sound of this guitar is simply awesome! He still tells me all the time how much he loves this guitar and he has had several people ask him what brand guitar he is playing and where he got it from….if you are on the fence with deciding on buying an Orangewood guitar, just go ahead and pick one up :)
I’ll start off my saying this is a great sounding guitar. Also a beautiful guitar. My issues are that the digital display for the tuner is crooked. It works. Just looks like it was put together careless. The torrified top really doesn’t look dark like on the website. I wouldn’t know the difference it it wasn’t labeled. Lastly I thought they were made in Indonesia. But they are made in China. With that said. Other than a crooked tuner display. Craftsmanship is pretty good. Overall I’m happy. If I had it to do over I would have saved the money and just got the regular echo.
