I'm already a happy owner of an 'Echo 12 Live' so when I was looking for a jumbo I came here first. I'm glad that I did.
The 'Duke' is an impressive instrument of remarkable proportions. Big body, wide nut width, and enormous sound. The quality in craftsmanship, and attention to detail, are what you would expect to see, feel, and hear in a guitar at least twice the price. Clean finish, quality joining, kerfed lining, dressed fret ends, etc. Whoever is making these guitars is doing a really great job.
This guitar has the ability to be super loud when you really get on it. It's why I wanted a jumbo. For my playing style, though, I found that when I really dug in the strings were often over driven. Harmonics, artifacts, and stuff like that. Now when I say "really dug in" I'm talking about Heart, Crazy on You or Richie Havens, Freedom, at Woodstock kind of getting on it. Forceful, excessive strumming, scooping pull and snap fingerstyle, or overly aggressive picking. The Ernie Ball Medium-Light phosphor bronze strings feel wonderful but were not a good match for that kind of playing style. This is not a shortcoming of the guitar, strings, or setup. It's just a matter of preference really. So I changed to heavier gauge copper and zinc 80/20's. That did the trick for me.
All in all I love this guitar. Keep up the good work :)
I was not in the market for a new guitar but recently got back into playing. Soon enough, Instagram's algorithm picked up on it and started showing ads for Orangewood. I was on the fence so naturally I did a lot of research online. Finally my mom convinced me to get it as a graduation gift to myself. I've had this guitar for a few days now and I am just in love with it. It really does have a beautiful and professional sound compared to my other starter models from other companies I played on prior. Plugged in, it sounds just even better and I was blown away by how versatile it was. I am thinking of getting another for my father as a gift, as he is thinking of getting back into it as well. It looks and feels beautiful, and the sound (for me at least) was well worth the 400 I paid (with a coupon code). Really really stunning acoustic. For someone like me who was just looking for something interesting to get me excited to get back into playing, this was the perfect purchase. For me it was between this and the Epiphone Jumbo guitar which I believe I heard is being discontinued. I took a chance on this (they were about the same price) and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The demo video is great, but doesn't do it justice. Great work
This thing is simply the best. Great tone and sound. Easy playablility. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a jumbo. Not to mention it looks incredible.
