Getting my 2nd one

Florence - Parlor
Setup was really decent. For the price, you won't find anything even remotely close to this ready to go out of the box. Even some more expensive guitars need an initial setup from a lot of these mass production brands.
The strings that come with it are kind of hard, but they have a really unique dirty sound with how I play. When they got old I replaced them with some Martin & CO. 92/8 Phosphor Bronze lights, which remind me of Metallica for some reason, but sound good and are easier to play.
I don't know a lot about guitars but this is exactly the type of sound I wanted. It doesn't have all the super fancy stuff, but it works perfect for my needs. I beat the crap out of it hammering chords and slide strumming with my fingernail to make sitar sounds. I'm self taught so I have no idea what I'm doing, but I love it.
I let a parlor guitar expert, someone who made a full parlor guitar album using different guitars for each song play this guitar, and he absolutely loved it. Then he freaked out when he heard about the price.
This is a special piece of equipment. I'd suggest you get it if you want something that's its own thing with its own character.

smaller guitar

I never had a parlor guitar itsa bit different, but it sounds pretty good,. Im a bit disapointed it has a few blemishes in the finish and a dent just below the saddle. I guess I can live with that.

This is a surprisingly NICE little instrument. I gave my first one to a friend who wanted to learn to play and missed her so much thatI ordered another one. Let me say that when I first got my original Florence I did NOT like her at all. Left her on a guitar stand for a couple of weeks intending to replace the nut with a high metal one and make her into a lapsteel. After two weeks I picked her up again and played a couple songs and she sounded so much better. Somehow she had really opened up and I abandoned my plans to modify her. That was the one I gave away and really regretted doing that. It was a no brainer to buy another when they went on sale!
