Playability a 10....tone 8....fit and finish 7....volume and clarity on the high end 8....on the low end 5....Action an 8.....I did have a set up done and changed strings but could of skipped I am just picky.....I have played more expensive guitars that were not as good.....The guitar has a solid top and is opening up and sounding even better as it ages....I guess my only ding on it would be it seems over braced which kills the low end some but over all the guitar is dam good for the price!!!
I got the Oliver Mahogany to try out an all-mahogany guitar, and boy does it sound great. Unfortunately, I found the action high. I brought it to my local luthier who was able to lower the action by adjusting the nut and saddle as well as dressing the frets to even them out and prevent buzzing which in total cost $200CAD.
The guitar now sounds and plays great, and has been hard to put down. I love how well though out the design of this guitar is, but I am a little disappointed because I looked to Orangewood partly because of the setup.
Would definitely have been inclined to try one of their higher end guitars as well if the setup was good. But I’ll probably get something I can play before I buy in the future.
Great guitar for the money. You can't go wrong with the Orangewood Oliver.
I can’t believe I’ve got a guitar that sounds like this for this price. It’s a dream to play. I love it!!
