Got the brooklyn jr live and man oh man this little fella did not disappoint.
I initially bought this guitar as a backup for my main acoustic of 10 years (Taylor gs mini). I had no idea what to expect. I am a gigging musician who is out every weekend and prefer the smaller body acoustics. I did some research (as I couldn’t sit down and play one in a guitar store) and pulled the trigger on this model. I am extremely pleased with the setup on this guitar right out of the box (my Taylor took a LOT of work to get where I wanted it). Plugged in, this guitar sounds WONDERFUL! … Unplugged, it has great volume, and while it feels very balanced, I feel the low end (unplugged - strings 6-5-4) feels a wee bit dead… It could be related to top thickness, or finish thickness, maybe even the stock stings (I haven’t changed them yet)… That being said, for the price I purchased this guitar… the real rosette, the beautiful wood - top back and sides.- and the Fishman electronics, this guitar is alot of bang for the buck… it sounds great. It plays great. It looks great… I will be using this guitar in live settings often and am looking to get a torrefied spruce Ava in the near future. Competition is good! Keep up the good work Orangewood! Well done!
This is a fantastic guitar. I've owned a Baby Taylor and a Mini Martin and this Orangewood is superior to both. It plays better than the Martin (neck was too narrow and cramped) and sound fuller than the Taylor. I also think the trim on this Orangewood looks better. Plus you get a really nice pickup. All, for less than the price of either the Taylor or Martin. I sold the other two, but I'm keeping this one!
Love showing this thing off! Fun to play, sounds incredible plugged in, feels great.
Outstanding! A well made and balanced instrument that brings back so many memories of my old band back in the 60’s and 70’s. At 76 I find it Brooklyn Orangebood well worth the money. Thanks to your fine company for bringing back so many good memories.
