Very impressed with the Brooklyn Live. Nice bright, loud sounding guitar for an orchestra size. I mainly bought this guitar for a smaller bodied shape to fingerpick and play more comfortably at home on the couch, etc. I much prefer this over a dreadnought. So much more comfortable! The guitar came with a nice quality padded bag, better than others I have seen. The guitar was setup nicely, no buzzing. Plays great out of the box. So far appears to stay in tune pretty well. I like the neck its smooth, a different finish than the glossy back and sides. It's a beautiful guitar. Only small complaint is that there was a blemish on the top of the guitar. This was sealed over, so no cracks, and doesn't affect anything to do with the playability. It adds a little character but QC should have noticed this. Still overall this is a very nice guitar. I also own much more expensive models (Martin, Taylor) and I wouldn't hesitate to plug this one in!
I’ve been playing guitar since the mid 70s. This is hands down the nicest acoustic guitar I’ve played at this price range. Easy to play. Sounds great. No fret buzz. Total quality instrument. Get one now!
Love the playability , tone and workman ship. I already recommended it to my musician friends. Good job guys.
I am a teacher and I play kids music. Since I'm jumping around with a bunch of kids, I don't want to sling a really pricey guitar over my shoulder to do it. I never thought I'd get a guitar this nice, though, for this price. Cons: I'm having trouble hunting down a snug fitting hard case.
First off I have to admit that I bought this Brooklyn Live used. Booo. Second this is the second Orangewood that I have owned. YAY. My first is an Oliver M Live bought as new in November of 2019. Just wanted to give Orangewood a shot at that time because I had listed to a lot of their demos. I was originally torn between the Oliver and the Brooklyn, but went with the Oliver because of the price difference. Was extremely happy with the Oliver right out of the box and still love playing it. I just happened to come across this Brooklyn on Facebook Marketplace earlier this week. Knowing that they are currently Out Of Stock and the original price, I just had to see it because of what the seller was asking. Did not expect what he brought. Pristine. Not a mark on it since it was kept in its gig bag and rarely played. I will not say what he was asking, but all I will say is that it was a steal and I grabbed it. OK, enough of that, what is my review once I got it home? I could not have expected a better quality build even if I custom ordered a guitar (which I have and it is currently is the build process). We shall see. Sound is rich and full. Solid top makes a world of difference. Feels like a natural fit in my hand. It is everything that my Oliver was with one exception. For my style of play, the action was just a bit high. No problems and no complaints, just my preference. Loosen the strings, remove the nut, use some coarse grade sandpaper, tighten the strings, tune it back up and I was good to go. 10 minutes? Perfect. Am hoping to but a Florence if it is ever available again. So, once again, thank you Orangewood.
