I have recently got the itch to starting playing acoustic guitar again after not being able to play the last several years due to a finger injury. I have owned several acoustic guitars over the years but I've never owned one with a cutout or with a built in pickup/microphone.
I have seen the reviews by the various YouTubers and decided I would give Orangewood a shot without ever having actually played one of their guitars before. I was hoping for what I saw in the reviews, but honestly I wasn't expecting a lot considering the price. I must say that I am very impressed with this guitar, and even more impressed with the communication with the company.
I ordered my guitar just before Christmas and I am sure Orangewood was very busy around this time. They notified me via email that the guitar would probably show up around Christmas Eve. I was going to be out of town so I asked them to hold it until I returned. I let them know when I got back and my new guitar arrived within a week.
This guitar looks and feels very well built. I must say that I am impressed and have been playing it a few hours every day after it arrived. 5 stars for quality of both the guitar and quality of the company. If only I could buy stock in this company. :)
I bought 3 orange wood guitars so far and you can't find everything these guitars hBe for the price. Solid tops, scalloped x bracing electronics, gig bag( nice and sturdy) bone but and saddle. Great finishes too.
I like this guitar, but it has a flaw/nick in the neck finish.
Having been a semi-professional degreed musician with over 40+ years experience as a player and teacher, I have played and/or owned almost all of the brand name acoustic guitars on the market. There are few that I truly enjoyed playing to the point that I would strum and pick for hours on end and regret stopping until the next time. This guitar and surprisingly the others I have since purchased from this company have filled that niche in my life that I didn't even know existed.
This was my first of what would become three Orangewood guitars (and a ukulele). The instruments look and sound exceptional and having become the proud owner of multiple guitars I was very pleased that each one came set-up very well and ready to play. The action was perfect and a pleasure to play. I know it has been stated previously, but I let a friend of mine play it who once owned a store and he stated flat out that he could sell it for three times what I paid.
The best recommendation I could give on this company's instruments is that once I got this one I sold all but one of the other guitars I owned and purchased more Orangewoods.. I just knew I wouldn't play my other guitars again...
I love this guitar, especially at this price. The 80/20 Bronze strings that came on it held it back severly, but it came alive, especially in the bass end, when I put on D'Adario Phosphor Bronze strings. I wish Orangewood had an option to install phosphor bronze at purchase and I recommend them to everyone on this guitar. The Tuner is a bit slow to react, but it is not really a problem. I see the guitar is out of stock now--I hope they get more soon and more people enjoy it as much as I do. My wife even though it was beautiful! Thanks Orangewood.
