Can't. Put. It. Down!

Having been a semi-professional degreed musician with over 40+ years experience as a player and teacher, I have played and/or owned almost all of the brand name acoustic guitars on the market. There are few that I truly enjoyed playing to the point that I would strum and pick for hours on end and regret stopping until the next time. This guitar and surprisingly the others I have since purchased from this company have filled that niche in my life that I didn't even know existed.

This was my first of what would become three Orangewood guitars (and a ukulele). The instruments look and sound exceptional and having become the proud owner of multiple guitars I was very pleased that each one came set-up very well and ready to play. The action was perfect and a pleasure to play. I know it has been stated previously, but I let a friend of mine play it who once owned a store and he stated flat out that he could sell it for three times what I paid.

The best recommendation I could give on this company's instruments is that once I got this one I sold all but one of the other guitars I owned and purchased more Orangewoods.. I just knew I wouldn't play my other guitars again...

Happy Happy

I love this guitar, especially at this price. The 80/20 Bronze strings that came on it held it back severly, but it came alive, especially in the bass end, when I put on D'Adario Phosphor Bronze strings. I wish Orangewood had an option to install phosphor bronze at purchase and I recommend them to everyone on this guitar. The Tuner is a bit slow to react, but it is not really a problem. I see the guitar is out of stock now--I hope they get more soon and more people enjoy it as much as I do. My wife even though it was beautiful! Thanks Orangewood.

Skeptical but greatly surprised!

I ended up damaging my great custom made guitar and decided to get the Mason Live Limited Edition. I love it! It has fantastic sound for a less expensive guitar. The Fishman pickup installed is fantastic as well. I have a Fishman Blend in my custom guitar. It doesn't sound like that $3500 guitar, but for what I paid, it is a great guitar for worship in my church. It plays really well. It reminds my of my old Alvarez that over time has gotten better and better sounding. If this guitar does that, then 10-15 years down the road this thing will sound even better. Again, it's no Taylor or custom built for tone or depth, but for playability and for a newer guitar player, I can't recommend it enough. I have already told my kids who play and some who are starting to play to check these out.

Nice Guitar for the money

Pros: The sound is "Great" for a low priced guitar but "ok" for a high end guitar. The exterior finish is "Good-Great". The Action is "Great". The Playability is "Great".
Cons: I guess I was expecting more from the reviews etc. The guitar is built well however the interior finish is not really up to par. The bracing was never sanded and has wood and fuzz wood splinters / hairs dangling from the bracing. Looks really bad. I understand the side and back wood is laminated however there is a hole thru the laminated inside side piece. So when I look thru the sound hole there is a glaring ugly brown spot with a hole thru the first laminate. This does not affect sound quality, it just looks sub-par and like something was missed or not really cared about.
The Company: "Spot On!" and great communication. Answered all of my questions and shipped out right away and arrived on time. I don't know yet if they are going to act on this review. I am not super satisfied. I own a couple of high end Taylor guitars so maybe I'm just spoiled. I wanted this as a quality travel guitar so I didn't have to take my high end guitars on vacations, but as is it will probably be an ornament in my small studio.
Not my intention to hurt this company. I feel they are doing great as a startup. as for a beginner guitar you won't beat it for the money.

Sounds as beautiful as it looks!

This guitar was in perfect tune right out of the box, so thumbs up to the good folks at Orangewood for their attention to detail and the set up! It's easy to play, it looks great, and it sounds wonderful. I'm impressed with the electronics as well, because it sounds every bit as good through an amp as it does unplugged. Thank you for another great guitar, Orangewood!
