It’s really nice, i love the color and it plays beautifully, it’s my favorite guitar :))
I got RAY M model.
Fit and finish are good, have some spots where the binding meets the wood that are not that great there is a little rough spots but not visible unless you go over them by hand or really look at those spots. I got mahogany model for the warm sound that is normally produced with that wood, but this one being laminate it DOES NOT sound the same. It much brighter tone but still good and usable tone. Neck is great, frets and everything is very, very good. At some point I might replace the bridge to genuine rosewood one.
All in all this is a $130 guitar so I didnt have my hope high about it. I expected much worse. Its light, feels good, sounds decent and the biggest of all it first it sounds as a much more expensive guitar would sound, second: quality is really good. To top it off you get a excellent gig bag too. Im still using the string that came with it and will know for sure once I change them to what I normally use on my acoustics. So at the end its a great buy and I would recomment it for anyone who needs cheap but awesome guitar.
I wanted an acoustic guitar to learn some finger picking. Also, having played electric many years ago, I wanted to get my guitar fingers moving again. Heard some great Orangewood demos on YouTube and decided to order a Rey. Wow! Incredible sound from such an inexpensive guitar, and it is a beauty to look at as well. I can’t wait to get good enough to move up to one of the other models. The only thing I wish I could get is an Orangewood guitar strap, which does not appear to be available by itself. I already have tuners and other accessories.
I bought my Rey after an extensive search for an inexpensive acoustic. I have issues with nerve damage in my left hand that makes fretting acoustics an challenge. I knew I just want something better constructed then most in the less than $150 range. My Rey is beautiful and well made. I still need see about going to lighter gauge set of strings and do some set up but I was very impressed with the playability right out of the box. May look into getting a Morgan or Oliver live at a later time. To my new friends at Orangewood thank you and keep up the excellent work.
