Had the guitar about a week. Pro's, fast shipping, beautiful guitar, perfect setup, uncompromised quality build and sounds great! Con's, NONE. WOW this is an exceptional guitar. Plays like a dream. The LR Baggs is better than great plugged in. There isn't a detail on the guitar to complain about all the way down to the rake angle of the strings from the bridge across the saddle. The whole guitar vibrates. Intonation and sustain are amazing.
I debated about buying this and decided to pull the trigger. I'm so glad I did. You will not be disappointed with buying this guitar! It's a keeper!!
Thank you for your review! We're so glad you decided on your Hudson Torrefied Spruce Live -- Enjoy!
The sale and shipping were great. I wish you sold more models in Canada, although a very nice border guard let me off without paying any duty. The guitar looks good and sounds great. I have a 1970 Gibson Southern Jumbo, and 1988 Washburn dreadnaught and the Hudson has a full sound that is equal to both these guitars. The best way to describe it is that it sounds like an old guitar. My only negative is that I think the action was a little high, so I had my local guitar store guy lower the action just a little at the bridge. Aside from that a great guitar for the price. I will recommend Orangewood to along guitar playing friends.
This guitar is going to replace my Taylor 214ce DLX, which I will be selling. I like the sound of the Taylor unplugged but I prefer the warmer sound of the Hudson. Plugged in, the Hudson and L.R. Baggs Anthem together sounds 10 times better than the Taylor's ES2 system. The Hudson's fit and finish was perfect. I can't find a single thing to say negatively about the Hudson. I'm glad I made the purchase.
Thank you for choosing Orangewood, welcome to the family!
I like my new Hudson pretty well. It sounds like a good dreadnought. I only gave it 4 stars, though, because the depth of the bottom of the guitar (lower bout) is only 4 5/8" instead of 5", which is usually what a more expensive dreadnought is. But I like it, despite that. The action is perfect, which makes it easy to play. The strings keep going down in tune, but I've only had it a week, and it's probably still adjusting to my environment. I'm using a soundhole humidifier when I'm not playing it. I really like the LR Baggs mic/pickup electronics. Sounds very realistic like a good dreadnought. I recommend this guitar.
