Extremely Playable and Comfortable

Low action, light strings, combined with a grand concert body makes the Oliver probably the easiest and most comfortable guitar you will ever play. The grand concert body is really the perfect guitar size. It's small enough for you move up and down the neck easily and not feel bulky, and also large enough to give your elbow a steady anchoring point. The most important thing about the Oliver (and other orangewood guitars) is that these guys bother to put a low action for you. My first guitar was a $120 guitar from amazon, a grand concert with a cutaway, a true budget killer guitar, but I had to spend an additional $68 to pay a luthier to lower the ungodly high action on that guitar and put lighter strings on it since I was a beginner then. Obviously had I known orangewood then, this guitar would have been a much better starting guitar, with it's unbeatable price.

If you're a tone hunter, this guitar may not be for you. I've jammed with my friends who own Taylors and this Oliver will not give you that perfect tone. However, for me this guitar sounds amazing even with extra light strings on it. If you are a beginner, this guitar will sound awesome to you. It's gosh darn hard to get your hands on one of these but trust me it is worth the wait.

Amazing!

I can't say enough good things about this guitar. Right out of the box, the action and set-up was practically perfect. I've compared this guitar's sound to my $1,200 Martin acoustic and it sounds almost as full. For a guitar that cost's less than $200, i find this to be quite amazing. It's super light and the satin finish on the body and back of neck is very, very nice. I just purchased another guitar from Orangewood and can't wait to review that one next!

What a stellar performance by Orangewood!

Honestly this is my first guitar, but it is not my first purchase. As for the guitar it appears to be everything you see and hear in reviews. For me it is about exploration with minimal risk. For the modest price and the chance to try something you always admired this was an easy decision. The purchase and procurement of the guitar is beyond contestation. It arrived a day early. That is customer service at its best.

We appreciate your review!
