I’ve been trying my luck with all the orangewood guitars and this one is my favorite. I started with the Oliver to the Brooklyn to the Hudson, and love it. They are great guitars but the quality is just something else on the Hudson. From its quality and the types of wood used it’s compared to a high end Martin(all solid top and sides, ebony frets and bridge and bridge pins). The guitar plays great and sounds amazing. It comes with a good hard case. I hope orangewood makes up to be as popular as martins and Taylor’s etc. I think this is best for value on what you paying for and getting in return.
Having played off and on throughout the past four decades, and trying to retire, i needed some bang for the buck in purchasing a good quality guitar. Seeing the exceptional reviews on Orangewood, I placed my order. The Hudson TS has a thermotreated spruce top to remove moisture, oils and resins to duplicate the tone of a vintage instrument. The tone is delicate but responsive! Comparable to a Taylor but I actually prefer the Hudson to the Taylor’s I have played in the past. The price is very reasonable and i am looking forward to playing this guitar for years and years!
This guitar is amazing. I had been wanting a solid-wood dreadnought with electronics, and I figured I was looking at well over $2000 for a quality instrument. Then I discovered this item and thought I’d try it. It is fantastic. Great sustain, warm deep bass, and bright highs give it great sound, and the electronics sound good too. The fit and finish were excellent too. The frets were well dressed and the guitar plays great. The one minor negative was the case had been sloppily glued and required cleanup, but hey, a hardshell case included on a guitar under $1000? What a great value, and a wonderful guitar as well! Ok, it’s not an HD-28E or an 814ce, but it’s close enough at this price (and it has the bound fingerboard the D-28 is missing).
