Overall I'm very happy with the tone od the guitar. However, I was disappointed with the setup. For all that Orangewood touts its professional setup, I cannot avoid fret buzz at the higher frets and was told my only recourse is to go to a local shop and have it set up again. Other than that, good guitar.
Let's start off with this -- I'm NOT an expert, haven't played a thousand other guitars or anything over maybe $2k. I've been playing for years, but just a self-taught noob, despite the time. This is the best guitar *I* have ever played, for me. What I was looking for was an upgrade to my several others. For ME, what that meant was better tone and hopefully easier to play. I wanted a solid wood guitar with great tone, to my ears, more resonance and bass than I get from my current guitars, and something that would [hopefully] be easier on my left hand, which has always just been ok and recently worse due to a peripheral neuropathy. I'd started developing bad habits to try to facilitate the chords that are more difficult for me. I also wanted something that would easily accommodate an amplifier, or a feed into GarageBand.
This guitar NAILED it for me. I sound like a different guitar player. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not good, but it sure helps me seem BETTER. It's easier to play, so I can practice and play more before my fingers get tired and cramped. The tone is fantastic compared to all of my other guitars, to the point that I can now hear some of my playing issues that were inaudible to me before and can address them. Everything is easier, and everything sounds better. It stays in tune better. It's just a complete game-changer for me. I've always loved to play, now I love it more. I've always played quite a bit, and now I can play more. I'd be hard-pressed to really describe what a change it has made for me.
My only complaint: the case, and it's minor. The case is nice. Substantial. Feels solid, well-cushioned, etc. My only gripe is that the fasteners don't really line up well and I have to fiddle with them, one more than the others, to get it to line up right to close. That's it. Otherwise, it's all perfect, at least for me.
Well done, Orangewood, and THANK YOU. I truly enjoy playing now more than I did before, and am more able to keep playing and keep trying to get better. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
I am not a good reviewer but I will try. The guitar is very good. Sounds like I was expecting for and the beauty for itself made my eyes happy. I am very satisfied with the sound so far. Overall, the guitar is excellent and I recommend. I forgot about the case. I was surprised Of the quality. Pretty happy with my new guitar.
