The Harper Tenor is my first tenor uke. I have cheap Rogue Soprano that I'm going to have to change out the tuning pegas on and I have a concert lenth banjolele that I like. I have a couple of baritone scale ukes that I like to play because it plays and sounds more like a guitar. I have three OW guitars that I really like so I took a chance on this Harper tenor. It's very nice looking and sounds good. Within a week it was staying in tune. The reason for four stars is that the C string tuning peg has a lot of slop in the gearing. It works but it's noticeably different feeling tuning that string.
The ukulele arrived in perfect condition, i was really impressed on how well the ukulele was made and attention to details put on it. Sounds really good took me very little effort to tune it right off the box.
Nice ukulele. Sounds good. Stays in tune. Shipping was on time. I'm really enjoying it!! I would highly recommend Orangewood!
Thank you for your review, Rick!
It's beautiful, well made instrument but I almost returned it. The intonation was way off, suggesting a poorly set bridge. Did some research and decided the problem was the strings. Put on a set of Aquila Sugars and wow, what a difference! I'm very happy with the sound and playability. The tuning machines could be better as could the strings it shipped with, but for the money, this ukulele is a steal!
